LIFE IS NOT ALWAYS A CABARET

Over the weekend a crane fell off a construction site in the Sutton Place area of New York City and smashed into an apartment and and 5-story townhouse. A number of people tragically lost their lives and for a short period actress Jill Haworth was thought to be one of them when she turned up missing. She lives in a corner apartment where a portion of the craned crashed. Thankfully Jill was evacuated and her frantic niece was able to locate her.

The British blonde made her film debut in Otto Preminger's Exodus (1960) and went on to work for him again in The Cardinal (1963) and In Harm's Way (1965). But she is best remebered as the original Sally Bowles in the smash Broadway musical Cabaret from 1966 to 1968. Jill has lived in the same apartment since 1966.
